The Cruising Group recently organised an RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship course for 11 members.. The 2 day course was given by David Jerrard of Seacraft and was deemed a great success by all. Chartwork and plotting, tides, safety, and much more were covered, giving the participants a useful grounding or refresher in some essential topics.
It is proposed to run the RYA Day Skipper theory course in HYC this winter. This course allows the above topics plus many more to be covered in detail over a period of 15 evenings. Further details to follow.
