The Cruising Group (Finally) Makes it to Red Rock

With a very favourable forecast of N-NW winds for the rescheduled Red Rock armada, a group of 10 yachts set off from the marina with Admiral Gerry O'Neill on Gerryatric in the lead. They had to dodge a few showers en route before finding a safe and sheltered anchorage in the lee of Red Rock.

There followed a peaceful and pleasant stay, broken only by the tinkling of glasses and the bleating of the resident goats above on the Hill. A Ukrainian guest, Olena, put the locals to shame by swimming from the anchorage to the beach. By the time of our departure, the wind had gone more northerly so only a little sailing could be achieved on the way home. But a Harbour Porpoise was spotted off the nose which was a nice end to a great outing.
