A great turnout for the HYC Cruising Group Quiz on Tuesday, 13th February, when seventy old and new members sat down with friends and family to confront with the thrilling quest posed by eighty general knowledge questions. Pat Bolger was the quizmaster, ably assisted by Sarah and Andraya as attentive scorers.
At the beginning of the tournament, all participants were invited to place their mobile phones in the middle of the table to exclude help from the internet. That resulted in some heated arguments as teams discussed... their "most right" answer to many puzzling questions. The Dingbats round was a big success, especially with those who hadn't met them before. The question of the evening: Who baked the cake on the cover of the Rolling Stones' album 'Let it Bleed'?
At Swim 4 Birds emerged victorious after a tight battle with Team Barbie and Cosmos that ranked respectively second and third on the final leaderboard. Team Gerryatric picked up a special prize for their never-give-up approach, showing resilience in the face of scoring adversity. No one left the room disappointed, as a sprinkling of spot prizes were some consolation for those in runner-up places.
A truly enjoyable night out for everyone!
