74 people turned out on a cold December evening for the 2023 Cruising Group Awards dinner. After a drinks reception, we sat down to a lovely meal, during which our grey cells were exercised by Gary McGuire's tough quiz.
Commodore Neil Murphy kindly presented the awards. Gerry Blacoe won the photography competition, closely followed by Eoin Kernan and Tony Olin. Willie Kearney's report on his cruise in the Ionian won the Menton Trophy for the best log, against stiff competition from Paddy Judge, Flynn McLernon and Eoin Kernan. The Donal Skehan Memorial Trophy was awarded to Michael Pearn and Michael Stirling (in absentia) for their work on the HYC new member mentoring programme. And Regina Martin and Kevin Monks shared the honours for the quiz.
A great night out and a good start to the Christmas season!
